Forbidden Knowledge

"Yet so simple, that while I became dizzy with the immensity of the prospect which it illustrated,I was surprised that among so many men of genius who had directed  their inquiries towards the same science, that I alone should be reserved to discover so astonishing a secret." Shelley,Mary.Frankenstein Chapter IV:Page 52, 1818 Ed

This section of Frankenstein was a key turning point in the life of  Frankenstein s' creator. The word creator is deliberately used as ""God created man in his own image".
Creativity of life by god: in my mind is one of the  aspects of forbidden knowledge that man should never tamper or pursue.Science is yet another filed man struggles to utilize to uncover the vast secrets of the universe and the world of life God created.Yet Man is never satisfied with what he has been given and in his quest for the "never ending truth is always miles beyond this comprehension. In my opinion Frankenstein plot is a mild warning for those who dare, and those who believe they are above all.We are shown the consequences of what started as a "Pet Project",evolving into an obsession. There were genuinely good intentions as normal sought by the good doctor in all his aspirations ,but the drunken stoop of godlike powers in making his own version of life and satisfying his own personal curiosity, made him oblivious to the consequences of such an action, which is the case today .Within us all lives this quest for recognition ,power, acceptance among our peers and greatness clearly betrays our primary goal to live and be satisfied with what we have as fellow human beings .We have the power of procreation within us,yet we make mockery of it as we ourselves give birth to children ,who we design as our own monsters of the future. Therefore Frankenstein is not so farfetched after all,if we truly understand the message and compare it to our everyday lives, who knows what the future holds and what man may yet design as progress or shall I daresay, some things of life are better left alone.
