Romanticism & Connection to Literature
Romanticism is often used throughout literature today.
The importance of romanticism in literature is mans/humans choice and role in society.
A man is able to take actions into account,makes choices, and have motives. Romanticism explicits the idea of free will and independency in society.
A man is responsible for actions/thoughts/choices
In Romanticism as discussed in literature, the characters have the option to make choices.
For example, Crime of Punishment, the character has to choice between murder and his beliefs. He has the ability to choose, which is commiting murder. An act he views and believes as okay and justified because of the victims criminal backround and violation of rules. His morals, set him out to prove something to the world and to himself. The idea of Romanticism, and mans choice in society, and motif to set change,is often discusses throughtout various writings of literature today.
Romantic Literature is about the choices a man can make and his motives. It provides reasoning to their actions and the importance of human greatness and no matter its outcome.
Romanticism is stilled used today thorughout literature but critics seek ways to incorporate yet reform and change the way of romantic writing. They believe that although Romantic writing expresses free-will of ones self, the writers often lack reality and real problems.
Shall the new term be Romantic Realism?
